I heard about this recipe from a few different sources. First time was in the book, How Not To Die by Dr. Michael Greger. Then I heard about it from one of my daughters friends, and finally, I learned about it from the book, The Starch Solution, by Dr. John McDougall. I’m not sure why it took me so long to finally make it, but I’m glad I did! So the next time you have some really ripe bananas laying around do not throw them out. Put them in a freezer bag and freeze them. When you get about 8-10 bananas frozen you can make banana ice cream.
The only ingredients for this recipe are the frozen ripe bananas and just enough plant milk to get everything moving in the blender. I used the unsweetened 30 calorie almond milk. Just blend it real good and pour into a bowl or cup and enjoy.
Banana ice cream is delicious just by itself or you can sprinkle some cinnamon on top to make it even healthier and tastier! You can also experiment by adding other frozen fruits to the blender and finding the fruit combo that you like. I can tell you that it was awesome with the cinnamon! Banana is a healthy fruit with 3 grams of fiber and potassium too. Click on this link to read more about how healthy bananas are at https://www.organicfacts.net/health-benefits/fruit/banana.html
